Dave Grohl at Wembley pays tribute to Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters

The March celebration of the drummer who died in March featured performances

The Foo Fighters surviving members--joined today by a number of other major-name musicians--gathered at Wembley Stadium, London, earlier today for a performance.


On Saturday, he spoke at the London event and said: "Taylor loved jamming and recording with anybody and everyone.

Hawkins, who was 50 years old, died March 31. The concert included the first live set of Them Crooked Vultures in 12 years -

Sir Elton John also paid tributes to Hawkins via a prerecorded message. He said: "I'm really sorry I can’t make it with you tonight

Hawkins was part of the Foo Fighters' front line, which included former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. He also played with Nate Mendel and Pat Smear.


The London concert will be followed in Los Angeles by a second show on 27 September at The Kia Forum. Chad Smith, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Alanis Morissette will perform.
